Gratitude for Every Voice & Action

Dec. 10th is International Human Rights Day and the final day of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. We close this campaign with gratitude for every voice, every action, and every ally who stood up for justice. Our fight for gender-based justice continues every day.

Special thanks to  Victoria Faulkner Women’s Centre and les essentielles who coordinate 16 Days events in Yukon, and to Dawson Women’s Shelter who bring the campaign alive in Dawson City.

Although the campaign is over, you can still access resources online. Raise your awareness of what gender-based violence can look like and how to best support a friend/coworker/family member by reading this blog post from Dawson Women’s Shelter. Visit endviolenceyukon.com for Yukon specific Calls to Action and a list of local support agencies and 24/7 help lines. That site is managed by VFWC and Les EssentiElles for both 16 Days and Sexual Assault Prevention Month – which happens in May.
