SAVE THE DATE – National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women falls on a Saturday this year, and will be honoured locally on Fri. Dec. 5:

In WATSON LAKE, Vigil on MMIWG2S+ in the Spirit of Dene A Nezen. 11AM start time. Hosted by Youth for Dignity & Tu Lidlini Drummers. Follow Liard Aboriginal Women’s Society for details + updates.
Everyone is welcome at these Vigils. Sparked by the 1989 Montrteal Massacre, this Nationally honoured vigil holds space to remember and honour:
- Women murdered by men,
- The 14 women killed 33 years ago on Dec. 6 in the Montreal Massacre,
- Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls
- And women killed by male violence in war zones around the globe.
In Canada this Vigil has also become an important part of the 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence.
