Yukon Transition Home Reveals Meaningful New Logo

In their search for a meaningful new logo, Yukon Transition Home – Kaushee's Place & Betty's Haven, held a logo design contest for Indigenous youth under 30. Artists were encouraged to submit logos that upheld the values of anti-violence, gender equity, dignity, inclusion and safety.
Joelle Charlie's design, entitled "Shitsuu Too Oozrii" (Grandmother Moon), was revealed as the winner August 13th. The 23-year old artist explains that she wanted to "bring a sense of safety, comfort, belonging and solace to people who are seeking safe space" at Kaushee's Place and Betty's Haven.
Charlie is a Liard First Nation member and a Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation citizen. Originally from Inuvik, she now resides in Watson Lake. You can see more of Joelle's art on Instagram, @zheetii.
