Highlights & Gratitude: Sisters in Spirit 2026

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Sisters in Spirit walk and vigil last Fri. Oct. 2nd. It was beautiful to see the community come together to support families and survivors, grieve, and call for justice.
 
Coordinated by Yukon Aboriginal Women’s Council (YAWC) in Whitehorse each year, the walk honours Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people (MMIWG2S+). This year’s event concluded with testimonies from MMIWG2S+ family members, prayers, a chance to smudge around the Sacred Fire, and a light meal. 
 
We stand in solidarity with YAWC and all those impacted.
