Accessible Abortion Care in a Safe Location

The Yukon Status of Women Council, in solidarity with members of the Reproductive Care Coalition and the Yukon Women’s Coalition, believe that Yukoners deserve accessible abortion care in a safe location. That’s why we’ve written an open letter to the territorial Minister of Health & Social Services and the Minister of the Women & Gender Equity Directorate requesting that abortion services be included in the mandate of the Whitehorse General Hospital.

  1. Wondering how you can help? Write to the ministers and/or your elected MLA to show support for the Opal Clinic. There is a letter template available on Yukon Status of Women Council’s website at www.yswc.ca/advocacy as well as contact information for where to direct your letter.  In addition, YSWC encourages folks to contact them with any questions. Use your voice to show your support for safe, accessible abortion care in the Yukon!
  2. Federal funding enables Yukon Status of Women Council to launch a survey on abortion access in the Territory.  Read the related article by CBC here.
