Highlights & Gratitude: Sisters in Spirit
Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Sisters in Spirit walk and vigil last Fri. Oct. 3rd. It was beautiful to see the community come together to support families and survivors, grieve, and call for justice.
Coordinated by Yukon Aboriginal Women’s Council in Whitehorse each year, the walk honours Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people (MMIWG2S+). This year’s event concluded with speeches around a sacred fire, a chance to smudge and a hot lunch.
We stand in solidarity with YAWC and all those impacted.
